VA’s Federal EHR: Things Every Veteran Can Do to Prepare
There are a few things Veterans can do to prepare for the transition to the Federal EHR at their local VA medical center, like making appointments and refilling prescriptions early, knowing how to use secure messaging, and making sure their contact information is up to date.
Health Portal Resources
After the transition to the Federal EHR, Veterans will continue to manage their VA health care through My HealtheVet on VA.gov and the VA: Health and Benefits mobile app — the same place they manage their other VA benefits and services. Visit Manage your health care with My HealtheVet for more information and resources.
Veterans who receive care at the following VA medical centers (and their associated clinics) that deployed the Federal EHR before 2026 were using the Oracle Health patient portal, called My VA Health. My VA Health was retired on May 29, 2026. Veterans at these VA medical centers are now using My HealtheVet on VA.gov and the VA Health and Benefits mobile app.
