Are you a business owner trying to navigate the labyrinth of information technology (IT) federal contracting opportunities available with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)? The Office of Information and Technology’s (OIT) Vendor Management Office (VMO) is here to help! To find IT solutions that improve the lives of Veterans and beneficiaries, the VMO helps guide current and potential business partners through the steps required to make connections, meet with stakeholders, and provide innovative solutions to benefit the lives of Veterans, their families, and their caregivers.
To ensure the Vendor Management team can provide the best experience and verify the best path to partnership, initial communications from vendors looking to collaborate with VA and OIT should first describe how their product or service directly supports Veterans and beneficiaries, improves customer service, or improves health care provided to Veterans.
There are also several additional opportunities for vendors to learn more about working with VA—the National Veterans Small Business Engagement Conference, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Direct Access Program, and the VA Forecast of Contracting Opportunities all provide vendors with direct, personal access to VA stakeholders and their needs. Unsolicited proposals may also be submitted to VA’s Office of Procurement, Acquisition, and Logistics (OPAL) Front Office Operations at vacovaoffa@va.gov. Please add rosa.lachapel@va.gov to the CC: line.
Typically, VMO staff meet in person with all vendors but, due to the pandemic, all meetings are conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams or Cisco WebEx.
“By collaborating with our business partners across the enterprise, VMO helps OIT achieve its strategic opportunities to deliver digital solutions that improve the lives of Veterans and their beneficiaries,” says VMO’s James Woodard, a Supervisor in OIT’s Office of Strategic Sourcing.
