The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology’s (OIT) IT Strategic Communication (ITSC) team received international accolades, winning a Gold AVA Digital Award for the “To Win21” Midyear Review video and Platinum Hermes Creative Award for its “Continuing VA’s Digital Transformation” Year in Review report. Evaluated by judges from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, both global award programs honor recipients who have brought their messaging to life through traditional and digital platforms.
Most notably, the Midyear Review and Year in Review were selected for creatively presenting OIT’s 2021 accomplishments through imaginative storytelling that visually highlighted:
- How VA technology positively impacts Veteran care,
- Why VA is committed to delivery of world-class digital experiences for Veterans, and
- Where VA plans to propel the Department’s capabilities and services through IT modernization.
Communication Director Reginald Humphries said, “We are truly honored to be recognized by our industry peers for the 2022 AVA Digital and Hermes Creative Awards.” Mr. Humphries added, “With another year of tremendous uncertainty, wrought by the coronavirus pandemic, VA’s IT communication didn’t skip a beat. I’m inordinately proud of the ITSC program, and the versatility, depth, and originality displayed within every message and creative product published by OIT.”
Both achievements represent another landmark for OIT’s ITSC team, which was named Ragan Communications and PR Daily’s Team of the Year last fall. Ready to take on a new challenge, ITSC has begun preparing messaging to set the stage for VA’s new digital transformation story.
