Distinguished for optimizing how the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) executes IT priorities across mission-driven outcomes, four Office of Information and Technology (OIT) team members were selected as 2022 FedHealthIT Women in Leadership, Leading for Impact awardees and one individual was named on the 2022 FedScoop50 and 2022 FedScoop Best Bosses in IT lists. Recognized for leading IT teams and programs that advanced VA’s digital transformation plan, this year’s honorees enabled vision-driven execution by focusing on OIT’s people and expanding the Department’s technology capabilities.

FedHealthIT Leading for Impact, Women in Leadership Award

  • Dr. Helga Rippen, Chief Interoperability and Veteran Access Officer, Interagency Program Office   
  • Ms. Faith Roy, Deputy Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Director for Cybersecurity Integrations, Logistics, and Planning, Office of Information Security

FedScoop50 and FedScoop Bosses in Federal IT Award

Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Technology and Deputy Chief Information Officer Dewaine Beard stated, “It is a privilege to work with such dedicated Senior Executives who are redefining how VA leads, manages, and advances OIT’s vision for digital transformation – each recipient truly embodies the Department’s shared values of operational and workforce excellence.” Mr. Beard added, “Each honoree represents the best and brightest of federal government; these awards allow us to celebrate their outstanding achievements and contributions, while acknowledging their tireless efforts to make a positive impact within the government community.”
