The Promise and Practices around Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the VA

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has embarked on a transformative journey, harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance care for our nation’s Veterans. In 2021, over 20 VA offices collaborated to develop the VA AI Strategy, positioning VA as one of the first federal agencies with an official AI roadmap. The strategy aims to incorporate AI into current practices, improving, expediting, and enhancing Veteran care.
