Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a cloud-based collection of integrated modular business applications. The suite is used in concert to help integrate operational, budgetary, and customer data into a single platform. This approach helps users control costs while improving operational efficiency, avoiding data and information silos, and reducing potential errors.

With its modular design approach, D365 makes it easy for business and IT users to build solutions, as well as offers the ability to share and use data with existing tools and systems. Connecting individual or multiple applications with those tools and systems supports extending their capabilities and assembling a wholistic business tech stack.

How we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 at VA

D365’s suite of business applications is well-suited to support sales, marketing, customer service management (CRM), finance, and supply chain management. Currently, the department focuses on using D365 as a CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool to improve communications with Veterans worldwide. It allows VA to improve enterprise functionality while keeping Veteran data safe and usable, thus improving the Veteran experience. Call Centers, including CommCare, Education Call Center, and Patient Advocate Tracking System commonly use it.
