Fleet Commander

Fleet Commander is a robust, customizable Fleet Management Information System (FMIS) designed to support the unique operational needs of the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a core application with optional modules, Fleet Commander empowers VA fleet managers to efficiently track, monitor, and report on critical vehicle telematics and usage data.

The platform offers seamless vehicle reservation capabilities, along with tools to analyze and forecast fleet demand and capacity. It also streamlines data collection for odometer readings, driver credentials, check-in and check-out activity, and more. With intuitive reporting and analytics features, Fleet Commander provides the visibility and control needed to optimize fleet utilization, enhance compliance, and support data-driven decision-making across VA operations.

The Roseburg VA Medical Center (VAMC) will implement FleetCommander to support approximately 200 internal VA users — primarily staff involved in Veteran care — as well as 10 drivers operating Disabled American Veterans (DAV) vehicles. The system will streamline the automation, monitoring, and management of the VA’s vehicle fleet operations.

FleetCommander ensures that VA personnel have reliable access to vehicles for delivering essential services to Veterans, including but not limited to social work visits, home health appointments, and volunteer transportation. The system facilitates vehicle reservations for both GSA and VA fleet vehicles and captures comprehensive usage data, such as mileage, trip details, vehicle reports, and location information.
